Blog # 8. Other Energetic Forces and Practices that Impact the Neurology of Human Behavior:

I would be remiss if I did not share with you, that the enlightenment may have not been so enlightened as first thought and that contemporary leading cutting-edge thinkers in neuroscience and physics posit that there is an integration of psyche and cosmos, meaning cosmos is not made of disconnected parts but  an interconnected whole and that’s why these so called pseudoscience’s may take on new relevance..

Astrological Archetypes:

Astrological archetypes, such as those found in the zodiac, represent different personality traits and energies. Each sign is associated with specific characteristics that can influence one’s mental state. For example, Aries is linked to boldness and action, which might correlate with higher beta brainwave activity, associated with alertness and active thinking

Feng Shui:

Feng Shui is the ancient Chinese practice of arranging living spaces to promote energetic harmony and balance. This practice can influence brainwaves by creating environments that reduce stress and promote relaxation. For instance, a well-organized and aesthetically pleasing space can enhance alpha brainwave activity, which is linked to relaxation and creativity.

Tapping (EFT):

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), or tapping, involves tapping on specific meridian points on the body to reduce stress and anxiety. This practice can help shift brainwave patterns from high beta (stress) to lower beta or alpha waves, promoting a calmer state of mind.

Crystals:

Crystals are believed to have various energetic properties that can influence mental states. For example, amethyst is often associated with calming and meditative properties, which might help enhance theta brainwave activity, linked to deep relaxation and meditation.

Mudras:

Mudras are hand gestures used in yoga and meditation to direct energy flow within the body. Different mudras can stimulate different brainwave patterns. For example, the Gyan Mudra (touching the thumb and index finger) is said to enhance concentration and might correlate with increased alpha and beta brainwave activity.

Mantras and Chanting:

Mantras and chanting are repetitive sounds or phrases used in meditation to focus the mind. Chanting mantras can help synchronize brainwaves, often increasing alpha and theta activity, which are associated with relaxation and deep meditative states.

Rituals: Rituals and Brain Waves:

Rituals, whether religious or secular, often involve repetitive actions, chanting, or meditation. These activities can help synchronize brain waves, particularly in the alpha (8-12 Hz) and theta (4-8 Hz) ranges, which are associated with relaxation, creativity, and deep meditative states. The repetitive nature of rituals can induce a trance-like state, promoting a sense of calm and focus.

Sacred Geometry and Brain Waves:

Sacred geometry involves specific shapes and patterns that are believed to resonate with the natural frequencies of the universe. These shapes, such as the Flower of Life, Metatron’s Cube, and the Golden Ratio, can influence brain waves by creating a sense of harmony and balance. Viewing or meditating on these geometric patterns can stimulate the brain’s visual cortex, potentially enhancing alpha wave activity and promoting a meditative state.

Combined Impact OF Sacred Geometry and Ritual:

When rituals incorporate sacred geometry, such as in the design of temples or mandalas used in meditation, the combined effect can be even more powerful. The structured environment and repetitive actions can work together to deepen the meditative experience, enhance neuroplasticity, and foster a greater sense of connection to the self and the universe.

Conclusion: What is implicit and irreducible about the above is that in our high-minded ignorance we were wrong that magical thinking is just Wu Wu. It turns out according to the current neuroscience that magical thinking remains quite rational, and that the so-called low-minded superstitions actually do have an impact on the world. In other words, magic is quite real, and neuroscience proves it.

Using Brain Waves in Conjunction with Affirmations and Their Impact on Body Chemistry - A Double Impact:

Reduction in Stress Hormones:

Cortisol: This is often referred to as the “stress hormone.” When you relax, your body reduces the production of cortisol, which helps lower stress levels and prevent the negative effects of chronic stress, such as anxiety, depression, and high blood pressure.

Increase in Feel-Good Neurotransmitters:

Serotonin: Known as the “happy neurotransmitter,” serotonin levels increase when you feel optimistic and relaxed. This neurotransmitter plays a crucial role in mood regulation, sleep, and overall well-being.

Dopamine: Often called the “reward chemical,” dopamine is associated with feelings of pleasure and motivation. Positive thinking and relaxation can boost dopamine levels, enhancing your mood and motivation3.

Endorphins: These are natural painkillers produced by the body. They help reduce pain and induce feelings of euphoria. Activities like exercise, laughter, and meditation can increase endorphin levels.

Activation of the Parasympathetic Nervous System:

When you relax, the parasympathetic nervous system (PNS) becomes more active. This system is responsible for “rest and digest” functions, which counteract the “fight or flight” response driven by the sympathetic nervous system (SNS). Activation of the PNS

helps slow down the heart rate, reduce blood pressure, and promote digestion2.

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric Acid):

This is an inhibitory neurotransmitter that helps calm the nervous system. Higher levels of GABA are associated with reduced anxiety and a more relaxed state of mind.

Boost in Oxytocin

Often called the “love hormone,” oxytocin is released during social bonding activities, such as hugging or spending time with loved ones. It promotes feelings of trust, empathy, and bonding, contributing to a sense of well-being and optimism3.

Enhanced Melatonin Productio:

This hormone regulates sleep-wake cycles. Relaxation and reduced stress can lead to better sleep quality by increasing melatonin production, which in turn supports overall mental and physical health.

These biochemical changes collectively contribute to a more relaxed, optimistic, and healthier state of being. Engagingn in activities like meditation, exercise, listening to certain electromagnetic waves, doing positive affirmations and spending time with loved ones can help facilitate these positive changes in your body chemistry.

Employing these electronically produced sound waves when used in conjunction with affirmations is the best of both worlds because they are a trigger to efficiently synchronize or intone different areas of the brain – igniting the subconscious and changing patterns towards the greater good.

You Tube:

What I find most effective is to play both YouTube affirmations and You Tube brain wave sound simultaneously wearing a headset.

Here are 2 channels to play simultaneously

To calculate what areas of the brain using brain waves in conjunction with affirmations look at the list of brain waves as listed above and choose the ones that apply. For example, in my own practice I employ theta waves to restructure my subconscious for increased health, success and better relationships, or for better study habits and assimilation of information I employ Gamma waves etc.

Why Some People May Have a Hard Time Using Electronic Brain Waves.

Individual Differences:

Personal differences in brain structure and function can influence how one responds to binaural beats. Some people may have a natural resistance to the effects of these auditory stimuli.

Psychological Factors: Binaural beats might interfere with the brain’s natural rhythms, causing a mismatch that can lead to discomfort or reduced cognitive performance. For example, if the brain generates theta waves, it might induce drowsiness, which is not conducive to tasks requiring concentration.

Overstimulation:

The intensity or frequency of the binaural beats might be too stimulating for some individuals, leading to tension headaches or migraines. This overstimulation can cause discomfort and make it difficult for the brain to process the beats effectively.

This overstimulation can cause discomfort and make it difficult for the brain to process the beats effectively. , reduced alpha waves may be seen in individuals with depression, while excessive beta waves might be linked to anxiety. These therapies can be used to treat conditions like ADHD, anxiety, and insomnia.
